Honoring Your Personal Journey
Throughout the course of our lives, we all experience loss at some point. Feelings of grief and loss are not always associated with death, however, but commonly surface after a loss of any kind—whether it is the death of a loved one, a severed relationship or divorce, a pregnancy loss, the loss of a cherished pet, a job transition, or the loss of emotional safety after trauma.
When a person loses something or someone valuable, feelings of grief can be overbearing. Grief can leave a person feeling sad, hopeless, isolated, irritable, or numb by affecting them mentally, emotionally, and physically. Healing from grief is a deeply personal process, and there is no rigid or orderly sequence of stages. Everyone experiences loss differently based on personality, culture, and beliefs.
Through specialized grief psychotherapy, clients have the space to:
- Improve coping skills to navigate intense emotional waves.
- Reduce feelings of blame and guilt over things left unsaid or undone.
- Explore and process complex emotions in a safe, non-judgmental environment.
