Safe, Non-Judgmental Recovery Care
An addiction is a chronic disorder in which an individual is compelled by a substance or activity that temporarily provides pleasure, control, or validation, but has become detrimental to everyday life. Compulsive behaviors can temporarily soothe uncomfortable emotions, but lasting freedom begins when the root of the problem is addressed.
People who have developed an addiction may be unaware that it is out of control, which is why specialized counseling is an essential part of managing this condition. An addiction of any sort is exhausting, and no one should have to walk the recovery journey alone.
My treatment plans focus on talk therapy and behavior therapy, offered in dedicated one-on-one individual sessions or collaborative group therapy formats. During sessions, clients analyze the reasons behind their addiction, identify personal triggers, review what has helped control impulses in the past, and build resilient coping skills to prevent relapse.
